“Struggling is hard because you never know what’s at the end of the tunnel.”
Comedian Don Rickels
In our latest post at The DBL Center, we took a lighthearted look at one of CEO Michael Cohen’s passions: stand-up comedy.
We bet you didn’t realize how much insurance brokers and comedians have in common, including our uncanny knack for reading a room and the need to stay up to date on current events and changing times.
Stand-up comedians and insurance brokers may struggle at times, but we know the importance of pushing through. A good comedian recovers quickly after a joke falls flat.
For insurance brokers, success comes from adjusting to market conditions, staying persistent, and staying ahead of the trends.
Life is a series of cycles and patterns. Those who recognize those patterns, especially in our industry, can make the right decisions for their clients and for their business growth.
Minnesota Launches Paid Family and Medical Leave
On that note, we want to make sure brokers know about the upcoming Paid Family and Medical Leave benefits coming to Minnesota in January 2026. It’s important for brokers in that region to begin guiding their clients through the process of privatizing this benefit.
The DBL Center is a leader in required benefits and our team is here to help you. We’ve done this before, in New York, across New England, and as far west as Colorado. Rely on our knowledge and experience to help ease the transition to PFL in Minnesota for your clients.
Expanding Team
As PFL plans spread across the nation, The DBL Center is, likewise, expanding. Join us in welcoming Chris Zimmerman, Sales Analyst, to our family. Zimmerman joined us in February and hit the ground running, supporting our sales force through every stage, from RFP intake to implementation.
“I can tell this is a place where people really care about the jobs they do and the difference that they’re making,” Zimmerman said in a recent blog post.
Announcing: Your Ultimate NJ FLI Resource Guide
We’ve had a lot going on, and we aren’t even two months into the new year. As we continue building out our Paid Family and Medical Leave Resource Center, we’ve added details about New Jersey FLI, which can be written as a private benefit for cost savings, better service, and expanded eligibility for employees. Learn all you need to know here.
Looking Ahead
As the days begin to get longer and this cold snap (hopefully) breaks, we’ll come full circle, leaving you with our thoughts on 2025, so far, in the words of Don Rickels:
“The old days were the old days and they were great days. But now is now.”
As spring approaches, what will you choose to make of the days ahead?
