Overview

Gina Rutledge brings nearly three decades of experience in the insurance industry to her role as Assistant Vice President of Sales, Paid Family & Medical Leave (PFML) at The DBL Center.

A recognized industry expert, Gina works closely with brokers and employers to navigate the rapidly evolving landscape of statutory paid leave programs across the country.

Gina specializes in breaking down complex PFML regulations into clear, actionable guidance. In her role with The DBL Center, Rutledge will help brokers understand the nuances of mandated benefits to grow their book of business while helping clients roll that cost-savings into ancillary benefits.

Prior to joining The DBL Center, Gina spent the majority of her career at MetLife, where she led product development in the fields of life insurance and short-term disability, advancing to leadership roles that included manager, director, and national practice leader.

For the past eight years, she’s focused on PFML strategy, training, and program design. She has trained more than 3,000 brokers through continuing education programs and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences, brokerage meetings, and client events nationwide.

Gina’s approach to employee benefits is shaped not only by her professional experience, but also by her personal perspective. As a member of the “sandwich generation,” she has balanced caregiving responsibilities for multiple family members while navigating the realities of employee benefits firsthand. Growing up in a small family business in rural Missouri, she also understands the challenges employers face without dedicated HR support—an insight that continues to inform her work with brokers and their clients today.

At The DBL Center, Gina is committed to helping brokers turn compliance into opportunity, ensuring mandated benefits are handled correctly while uncovering strategies that support business growth and long-term success.

She holds a Master’s degree from Webster University, is a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) through The American College, and maintains her Florida Life & Health license.
