Our History
The DBL Center Ltd. was founded by David J. Cohen in 1976 as a licensed insurance organization authorized to sell insurance in all 50 states. In 1983, the company incorporated as The DBL Center Ltd., emphasizing the sale of New York State disability insurance mandated by New York Disability Benefits Law. The company maintains its focus on disability insurance today, selling not just NY DBL insurance, but New Jersey Temporary Disability Benefits (NJ TDB) through the website www.eztdb.com, and Temporary Disability Insurance (TDI) in Hawaii.
In 2014, The DBL Center Ltd. acquired Combined DBL, a Nassau County, Long Island, General Agency, expanding its ability to serve its growing base of insurance agents in the New York Tri-state area and beyond.

The DBL Center Ltd. launched InsuranceWholesaler.net to offer insurance agents an electronic gateway to fast binding quotes for mandated New York disability benefits law coverage and to take advantage of multi-line discounts on a wealth of ancillary insurance products and corporate employee benefits, including Long Term Disability insurance, Group Life AD&D, vision and dental insurance.
Our newly revamped, easy-to-navigate website further spotlights the benefits of our white-glove service and multi-line discounts, while making it even easier for insurance agents to get a quick, binding quote for disability insurance in New York.
Future Expansion and Continued Stellar Service
We maintain our focus on personalized service, serving as a full-service back-office support staff for more than 4000 insurance agents in 15 states. We are also keeping an eye on further expansion, with new offices and additional acquisitions on the horizon, giving our clients more choices and more opportunities to earn greater commissions by letting us write and manage their policies.
